Agartala, November 17, 2021: In a landmark decision to reduce the additional burden on air traffic passengers, the state cabinet has decided to reduce the current tax on aviation turbine fuel (ATF) from 16% to 1%. After the cabinet meeting, Information and Culture Minister Sushant Chowdhury told a press conference at the Civil Secretariat that the state government's decision would increase air traffic in the state and ultimately benefit Tripura passengers. He said that Agartala International Airport will soon start its operations and with the reduction of ATF tax, smooth passenger service will be attracted from Agartala Airport. A total of 43,58,359 people across the state have been vaccinated so far out of which 25,22,206 have been vaccinated with the first jab of Covid-19 vaccine and another 18,36,153 have been vaccinated with the second dose of Covid vaccine. As of Tuesday, the state had 8,83,580 dose stocks.
